In director Christine Jeffs’ A Mistake, Dr. Liz Taylor (Elizabeth Banks) instructs one of her registrars to participate in a routine surgery. When he does something wrong, Liz soon begins experiencing the fallout as her colleagues and the public look for someone to blame for something that she continues to insist didn’t impact the outcome of the surgery.
Awards Buzz spoke with Jeffs about adapting Carl Shuker’s novel of the same name and turning it into a film. Watch the video above to hear how she believes it reflects the current state of medicine and whether it matters where audiences are watching.
