Almost a decade after Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis explored the lives of Thomas Cromwell and Henry VIII in Wolf Hall, the pair reunites for the adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s follow-up novel, The Mirror and the Light, in which their story continues during a treacherous era filled with duplicity and extremely driven true believers.
Awards Buzz spoke with Lewis about inhabiting the character – and wardrobe – of Henry VIII again and diving further into his psyche. Watch the video above to hear about his take on power and how he believes the Cromwell vs. Henry relationship compares to his onscreen rivalry with Paul Giamatti in Billions.
