Interview: Everett Blunck & Owen Teague on Connecting with Their Characters and the Joy of ‘Griffin in Summer’

In Nicholas Colia’s Griffin in Summer, Griffin (Everett Blunck) has written his latest play, exploring very mature themes of the brutal dissolution of marriage. As he struggles to get his teenage peers to relate to the material, Griffin finds himself entranced by Brad (Owen Teague), the new handyman his mother (Melanie Lynskey) has hired to help around the house and who changes his perspective on what relationships can be.

Awards Buzz spoke with Blunck and Teague about what they were able to connect with – and didn’t necessarily relate to – about their characters. Watch the video above to hear their advice following early starts in the film industry and what they’d recommend to aspiring actors.

Griffin in Summer opens in theaters on Friday, August 29th.
