The limited series We Were the Lucky Ones, based on the 2017 nonfiction book by Georgia Hunter, tells an incredible story of survival of the Kurc family, separated and scattered across the world during the Holocaust. Among the talented cast is actress Hadas Yaron, who portrays Mila, who endures and perseveres with her husband Selim (Michael Aloni) and their daughter Felicia (Artemisia Pagliano).
Awards Buzz spoke with Yaron about the relevance of this story in her own life and in the world today. Watch the video above to hear her reflections on filming this epic series and working with an international cast, as well as a preview of the upcoming spinoff of Shtisel.
Hadas Yaron is eligible for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at this year’s Emmy Awards. We Were the Lucky Ones is available to stream on Hulu.
