Hacks, now back for its third season on Max, is a show about the unhealthy working dynamic between veteran comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder). Every once in a while, Ava’s mother Nina (Jane Adams) pops up to cause just a bit more chaos for her daughter, hopelessly untethered to reality in a way that truly irks Ava and manages to delight Deborah.
Awards Buzz spoke with Adams about her relationship with the show and the chance to work with Einbinder and Smart. Watch the video above to hear her reflect back on great past roles, including Sneaky Pete and Hung.
Jane Adams is eligible for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series at this year’s Emmy Awards. Seasons one through three of Hacks are available to stream on Max.
