Interview: Nathan Mitchell and Valorie Curry on Their Different but Quite Memorable Experiences in ‘The Boys’

In the fifth and final season of The Boys, it’s the last standoff between good and evil as a long-in-the-works plan to kill Homelander for good is met with countless obstacles, betrayals, and blood-soaked deaths. This show, known for its crazy moments, goes even more all-out than ever before as it signs off for good.

Awards Buzz spoke with Nathan Mitchell, who plays Black Noir, and Valorie Curry, who plays Firecracker, about the craziest moments they can remember from the show (Mitchell’s hasn’t yet been seen). Mitchell commented on the fact that he’s not identified as a star of the show as much as his castmates because he’s always wearing a mask:

“Obviously, I think people recognize me less than everyone else, but there are the moments when people will be like, Black Noir! It’s really cool to be a part of a show and to have a character that is appreciated and recognized by fans.”

Curry shared whether joining the show midway into its run met her expectations:

“Oh my god, it was so much more. That’s the thing, I think it’s the same for us as it is for the fans, right? You think you know that this show, it can do anything, it can go anywhere, it’s always topping itself, but whatever is happening, yeah, in Kripke’s mind, in that writers’ room, they always find a way. We just can’t pause it. We just have to do it and do it over and over.”

Watch the video above to hear how they feel about their allegiances and whether they might ever want to see them play for the other team.

Season five of The Boys premieres on Wednesday, April 8th with new episodes dropping weekly through the series finale on May 20th.
