Season two of The Last of Us features plenty of notable plot developments that won’t surprise fans of the game but will likely devastate unsuspecting new audience members, but it’s also a visual feast for the eyes. The infected take on a new life in the season’s second episode as they emerge in the hundreds from under the snow and a new Bloater arrives to terrorize Jackson.

Awards Buzz spoke with VFX supervisor Nick Epstein and Animation Super Dennis Yoo about how their own experience with the game helped to shape their work behind-the-scenes on the TV show. Watch the video above to hear about their contributions to the second episode and the rest of the season, as well as what moments they’d love to work with in season three and beyond.
