Netflix’s new animated comedy Mating Season feels a bit like the world’s most chaotic wildlife documentary, only animated and completely unfiltered. Every animal is horny, emotionally damaged, and somehow more self-aware than most humans.
Kroll created the show (alongside Jennifer Flackett and Andrew Goldberg) and also voices Ray, a raccoon whose survival instincts seem to begin and end with bad decisions. The series carries all the deliciously inappropriate raunch fans loved from Big Mouth, with maybe even fewer boundaries.
Kroll sat down with Awards Buzz’s Sari Cohen to discuss the unhinged universe of the show. Which animal species would instantly turn a dating app into a disaster zone? How hard was the laughter in the writers’ room? All that and more in this interview.

Rauchy, risky, and filled with heart. Mating Season is out now on Netflix.
