In Nicolas Keppens’ Oscar-nominated short film Beautiful Men, three brothers travel to Istanbul for the chance to get something they’ve lost and desperately want back: their hair. The trip doesn’t prove to be that easy but reveals surprising things about what means most to them.
Awards Buzz spoke with Keppens about the inspiration for the film: his own trip to an Istanbul hotel that he didn’t realize had a special arrangement with a hair transplant clinic. Watch the video above to hear about his process of animation and how he feels that short film is its own medium separate from feature film.
