AMC Review: ‘Snowpiercer’ Unites Its Passengers Against One Last Threat in Final Season Four
July 21, 2024Review: ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is a Fast, Fun, and Bloody Invitation into the MCU
July 26, 2024In Ian Ebright’s feature directorial debut, Simon Harrington (Patrick Fabian), a combative writer, insists on an academic debate still taking place even after his good friend and planned opponent is incapacitated, resulting in an unexpected intellectual sparring match with Sarah Clawson (Kailey Rhodes), a faith-toting woman who represents everything he hates. While he digs himself further into what he sees as a form of combat, his wife Claire (Diane Coconubo) stands firmly behind him, even as her own health worsens and she grapples with her mortality.
Awards Buzz spoke with Fabian, Coconubo, Rhodes, and Ebright about collaborating on this independent film and what they connected to about the characters. Watch the video above to hear how they feel its debate-centric plotline might feel especially relevant in today’s political climate.
The Way We Speak premieres on demand and digital Tuesday, July 23rd.
