Interview: The Cast and Director of ‘The Order’ on Recreating Recent and Relevant History

In Justin Kurzel’s The Order, FBI Agent Terry Husk (Jude Law) arrives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 1983 to investigate a series of local heists. With the help of fellow agent Joanne Carney (Jurnee Smollett) and young police officer Jamie Bowen (Tye Sheridan), Husk presses deeper to uncover the true culprits involved: a white supremacist group and its charismatic leader Bob Matthews (Nicholas Hoult).

Awards Buzz spoke with Law, Sheridan, Smollett, and Kurzel about what they knew of the true story on which this film was based and what they learned in their research. Watch the videos above to hear how the signature look and feel of the film was accomplished and how its events don’t feel all that distant four decades later.

The Order opens in theaters on Friday, December 6th.
