Interview: Theo Taplitz on Embracing a Flawed Character with Good Family Values in ‘Bad Shabbos’

In Daniel Robbins’ Bad Shabbos, David (Jon Bass) arrives at the New York City apartment of his parents Richard (David Paymer) and Ellen (Kyra Sedgwick) with his fiancée Meg (Meghan Leathers), who is in the process of converting to Judaism and whose Catholic parents are joining them for Shabbat dinner. Family dynamics make for one very chaotic evening that deals with more than just religious observance divides, including for David’s younger brother Adam (Theo Taplitz).

Awards Buzz spoke with Taplitz about the appeal of joining this movie and working with the rest of the cast. Watch the video above to hear what he likes – and doesn’t like – about Adam and the way he interacts with his family.

Bad Shabbos is currently playing in select cities.
