It’s 1989 in Sheffield and Daniel (Rory Walton-Smith) and Alison (Florence Hunt) meet and connect thanks to a shared affinity for music. Twenty years later, Daniel (Jim Sturgess) and Alison (Teresa Palmer) are worlds apart, living in Sheffield and Sydney, respectively, and Daniel’s hopeful decision to reach out brings many memories flooding back and the possibility of a renewed relationship at a drastically different point in their lives.
Awards Buzz spoke with Strugess and Walton-Smith about their own musical references and the songs they remember listening to growing up. Watch the video above to hear how they feel about portraying the same character and whether they were informed by the other’s performance.
