About “The Drop: A Snowfall Saga”

FX’s “The Drop: A Snowfall Saga” brings back fan-favorite characters Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) as they fight to reinvent themselves in ’90s Los Angeles. Set against the aftermath of the crack epidemic, the series dives into the birth of West Coast rap, driven by Wanda’s fierce conviction that music can reshape American culture. As she builds a team of creative geniuses and pursues volatile local rapper Artillery (Simmie “Buddy” Sims III), she must skillfully navigate the dangerous intersection of music and street politics.

Her ambitious path includes an internship with former D-boy-turned-label-owner Darryl “DG” Grant (Brandon Mychal Smith), drawing in her cousins Lamar Kinsey (Asante Blackk) and James Kinsey (Peyton Alex Smith). However, these bold moves heighten tensions with Leon, who has sworn off the streets to pursue personal redemption through his free legal clinic. As ambition, loyalty, and survival collide, everyone is forced to decide how much they are willing to risk to build a lasting legacy in a world working to drag them down.

The series is executive produced by Malcolm Spellman, Thomas Schlamme, Dave Andron, Michael London, Trevor Engelson, Julie DeJoie, and Paul Garnes, and is produced by FX Productions.
