Emmy nominations will be announced on July 15th. We’re running down the top contenders in a number of categories and offering predictions!
Last year’s nominees: Only one of last year’s nominated shows is back this year, and Jonathan Pryce (Slow Horses) will now compete in the supporting actor category.
Past nominees: 2019 winner Bradley Whitford (The Handmaid’s Tale) is also competing in the supporting actor category.
The rest: For its first season, The Last of Us received four nominations in this category. That bodes well for Jeffrey Wright (The Last of Us), Joe Pantoliano (The Last of Us), and Tony Dalton (The Last of Us). Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt) and John Noble (Severance) are strong contenders from two of the most popular shows of the season, along with Scott Glenn (The White Lotus). Joel McHale (Yellowjackets) and Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) may benefit from other guest spots this year on The Bear, and Beau Bridges (Matlock) is a mainstay in this category with previous nominations for four different shows.
This year’s predicted nominees: Bridges, Glenn, Hatosy, Noble, Pantoliano, Wright
