Interview: Emily Beecham on Being Directed by an Actress in a Story of Sisters in ‘My Mother’s Wedding’

Kristin Scott Thomas makes her directorial debut with My Mother’s Wedding, in which she stars as a woman marrying her third husband after losing her first two husbands in exactly the same manner. Her adult daughters Katherine (Scarlett Johansson), Victoria (Sienna Miller), and Georgina (Emily Beecham) all arrive for the wedding with their own baggage about their mother and the new man in her life.

Awards Buzz spoke with Beecham about what it was like to work with Thomas and how she’s previously collaborated with other performers directing. Watch the video above to hear how she feels she’s like Georgina and how all three sisters compare to their portrayers.

My Mother’s Wedding opens in theaters on Friday, August 8th.
