Job searches can be tough. There lies the drama of Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice. Man-su (Golden Globe nominee Lee Byung-hun) is seeking work after being unceremoniously fired. The stakes keep getting higher, the desperation grows, and so does the suspense.
Cinematographer Kim Woo-hyung worked closely with director Park to reflect Man-su’s deteriorating mental state. And in our Awards Buzz interview, he reflects further on how Park’s methods led to a unique collaboration and a new relationship with his craft. Similarly, in conversation with Kim Woo-hyung, one is left with that same sense of wonder and excitement he describes. And a deeper love and appreciation for the art of cinematography.
