‘The Miniature Wife’ Sofia Rosinsky on Film vs Series, Industry Secrets, First Time Playing Real Age!

Latasha M. Ford with Awards Buzz had a great opportunity to sit down for a lively chat with Sofia Rosinsky to discuss her work on “The Miniature Wife.”

During our conversation, Sofia shared wonderful insights into her portrayal of Lulu, noting the unique screwball comedy energy of the series and her personal connection to her character’s complex relationship with her mother and career indecision. The interview also touched on Sofia’s creative process, her preference for film and series roles, and the production company she formed with her sister. The star shared her experiences regarding the audition process and how she engages with social media feedback from the audience and so much more.

Check out the full interview here:

“The first audition was a tape, and then from then on it was a series of Zoom calls. I was at my grandpa’s house and I taped in his garage. When I first got the audition I was like, “Oh, man. Wow.” I went in, taped it, came back afterwards and something didn’t feel right. It felt so delicate, the writing. So I went back to it the next day after watching some screwball comedies with my grandpa, just to kind of get that, feel the energy, and re-taped it and it felt right.”

About ‘The Miniature Wife’

The drama TV series follows a couple struggling with a power imbalance in their marriage: a scientist husband and a novelist wife dealing with writer’s block. The story takes an absurdist turn when the husband accidentally shrinks his wife to six inches tall, turning the figurative metaphor of her feeling small and unheard into a literal reality. At its core, this is a love and remarriage story that explores whether their relationship can survive this miniature reality or if the situation provides the reset they need to fall in love again.

The series features an impressive ensemble cast, including series regulars Elizabeth Banks, Matthew Macfadyen, O-T Fagbenle, Zoe Lister-Jones, Sian Clifford, and Sofia Rosinsky. The recurring cast includes Ronny Chieng, Aasif Mandvi, Rong Fu, and Tricia Black.

On the production side, Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner serve as creators, showrunners, and executive producers. They are joined by executive producers Michael Aguilar, Suzanne Heathcote, Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, Elizabeth Banks, and Matthew Macfadyen. Additionally, Greg Mottola is set to direct episodes 101, 102, 107, and 108, while also serving as an executive producer.
