Today, May 29, 2026, marks the global debut of the season five finale of the critically acclaimed space drama “For All Mankind,” titled “This Land Is Our Land.” The 10-episode season, which premiered on March 27, 2026, has seen the Happy Valley colony on Mars grow into a thriving settlement with thousands of residents while facing building friction with the nations of Earth. This season introduced new series regulars including Ines Asserson as Avery Stevens (AJ), Mireille Enos as Celia Boyd, and Sean Kaufman as Alex Baldwin.

Latasha M. Ford with Awards Buzz had the great pleasure of speaking with stars Ines Asserson and Wrenn Schmidt. During their conversations: Ines Asserson discussed the experience of playing AJ Stevens in a space-themed series and the physical demands of her costume. Wrenn Schmidt reflected on the evolution of her character, Margo Madison, and what makes being part of this long-running ensemble special to her.

Ines Asserson on discovering the intense reality of filming ambitious sequences: “I don’t know. It does not feel like 100 pounds [the costume] I think probably, like, 30 pounds. I don’t usually go for kilos. But, it’s heavy. Oh my God!”

Wrenn Schmidt explore the incredible journey of her character’s transformation through different seasons: “In some ways I feel like each season is its own metamorphosis of where is this person now. Season five of “For All Mankind” picks up in the years since the Goldilocks asteroid heist. Happy Valley has grown into a thriving colony with thousands of residents and a base for new missions that will take us even further into the solar system. But with the nations of Earth now demanding law and order on the Red Planet, friction continues to build between the people who live on Mars and their former home.

The ensemble cast returning for season five includes Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt, alongside new series regulars Mirelle Enos (“The Killing,” “Hanna”), Costa Ronin (“The Americans,” “Homeland”), Sean Kaufman (“The Summer I Turned Pretty”), Ruby Cruz (“Bottoms”) and Ines Asserson (“Royalteen”).

“For All Mankind” is created by Emmy Award winner Ronald D. Moore, and Emmy nominees Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi. Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners and executive produce alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, as well as Kira Snyder, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson and Seth Edelstein. “For All Mankind” is produced for Apple TV by Sony Pictures Television.
