Samba Schutte appears in just two episodes of Pluribus, but his performance as the charismatic Mr. Diabatè is one of the standout parts of the Apple TV+ hit’s acclaimed first season. Like Carol (Rhea Seehorn), Schutte’s character finds himself immune to the hive mind that has taken over the world, but unlike our protagonist, he is quick to embrace his new position, with trips on Air Force One and Gatsby-esque parties in Vegas. His lifestyle contrasts with Carol’s isolation, but he’s also one of the few willing to help coax her out of her despair.
