May 23, 2024The limited series The Sympathizer, based on the novel by Viet Thanh Nguyen, chronicles the extraordinary story of the Captain (Hoa Xuande), a North Korean spy during the Vietnam war who comes to the United States. Alongside Xuande’s formidable performance and a chameleonic Robert Downey Jr. is Duy Nguyễn, who plays Man, the Captain’s handler.

Duy Nguyen is eligible for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at this year’s Emmy Awards. The series finale of The Sympathizer debuts Sunday, May 26th at 9pm on HBO and the series is available to stream on Max.
