In the Showtime limited series A Gentleman in Moscow, based on Amor Towles’ 2016 novel, a Russian count in the early twentieth century is permanently confined to a luxurious hotel in the aftermath of the Bolshevik resolution. Ewan McGregor embodies the title character with a flair for all things fancy, and McGregor’s real-life spouse, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, portrays Anna Urbanova, an actress who enchants the count over the many years they cross paths.
Awards Buzz spoke with Winstead about the appeal of working with McGregor again after previous collaborations Fargo and Birds of Prey. Watch the video above to hear what it was like following her character through many years of story and life events.
