In Michael Angarano’s Sacramento, Rickey (Angarano) is spiraling in the wake of the loss of his father and enlists the unwitting Glenn (Michael Cera), who is about to become a father for the first time, to come with him on a spontaneous road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento that puts the sustainability of their long-term friendship into serious question.
Awards Buzz spoke with Angarano and Cera about how their own experiences of being fathers contributed to their portrayals. Watch the video above to hear how they feel they’re able to relate to their characters and the journeys they’ve had.
