Interview: The Showrunners and Supporting Cast of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ on the Show’s Final Season

The Handmaid’s Tale returns for its sixth and final season, beginning with June (Elisabeth Moss) and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) on a train together but headed in radically different directions. Determined to bring down Gilead, June navigates her potential allies amid very treacherous territory, while Serena finds her place in a new, reformed version of a totalitarian society, New Bethlehem, which may give her some voice again while preserving her conservative beliefs.

Awards Buzz spoke with Yahlin Chang and Eric Tuchman about taking over showrunner duties for the show’s swan song. Watch the videos above to hear from supporting cast members Samira Wiley, Sam Jaeger, Amanda Brugel, Madeline Brewer, Bradley Whiford, and Ever Carradine about how they’re feeling about saying goodbye to their characters.

The first three episodes of the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale are now streaming on Hulu, with new episodes dropping weekly on Tuesdays through the finale on May 27th.
