Interview: Patrick Ball on Tackling Addiction in His First Major TV Role as Dr. Langdon on ‘The Pitt’

In The Pitt, Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) leads a team at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital emergency room through a fifteen-hour work shift. One of his colleagues is Dr. Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball), who doesn’t have much patience for newbies who don’t think through what they’ve done or think they know too much, but who has also found himself in a very problematic situation that’s hard to explain away and escape.

Awards Buzz spoke with Ball about how important his character’s storyline is to him and how it looks at the stages of early recovery, a rarity for TV. Watch the video above to hear how working on a television set for the first time feels different from his background in theater.

Season one of The Pitt is streaming on Max.
