About ‘Beauty in Black’
If you haven’t had a chance to watch it ‘Beauty in Black’ yet, the show follows two women from different walks of life whose paths unexpectedly collide: Kimmie, portrayed by Taylor Polidore Williams, struggles after being kicked out by her mother, while Crystle Stewart plays Mallory, a successful business owner. Set in Chicago, the series intertwines the lives of a wealthy Black family in the hair-care industry with an exotic dancer caught in the city’s nightlife.
According to show creator Tyler Perry, the inspiration for the series came from the idea of blending Atlanta’s ’90s club scene with real-life hair-care dynasties, resulting in a purely fictional and entertaining narrative. He emphasizes the core message: “Never ever underestimate the power of the underdog. ‘Beauty in Black’ Part 1 quickly rose to the number 1 spot on the Global TV Top 10 List after its debut. This success is part of Tyler Perry’s ongoing creative partnership with Netflix, where he writes, directs, and produces films and series. His recent work with Netflix includes ‘The Six Triple Eight’, ‘A Jazzman’s Blues’, ‘A Madea Homecoming’, ‘Mea Culpa’, and ‘A Fall from Grace’. Will Areu, Angi Bones, and Tony Strickland produce ‘Beauty in Black’ for Tyler Perry Studios. The series features a talented cast, bringing together new talent, strong Black leads, and seasoned legends.
Regarding the release of ‘Beauty in Black Season 2, Part 2’, Netflix has not yet announced an official date as of September 13. However, similar to the first season, Season 2 will also be released in two parts. Season 1, Part 1 premiered on October 24, 2024, followed by Part 2 on March 6, 2025 (a gap of four months and ten days). If Netflix follows a similar schedule, ‘Beauty in Black Season 2, Part 2’ is likely to be released in early 2026, potentially in January, and is expected to have eight episodes, bringing Season 2’s total to sixteen.
Here’s a sneak peek at what to expect in ‘Beauty in Black Season 2, Part 2’:
The story picks up after the dramatic Part 1 finale, with Kimmie fully embracing her role as COO of the Beauty in Black empire. She confronts Roy, Mallory, and Jules, asserting her authority. Since marrying Horace, Kimmie has extensively researched the company and has been mentored by her husband, who is in Italy for experimental cancer treatment. Kimmie presents a five-year plan to eliminate company debt, raising questions about Olivia and Norman’s suspicious business practices hidden through offshore LLCs. She also instructs family attorney Varney to meet with plaintiffs suing the company over claims that its hair products cause cancer.
Crystle Stewart, who plays Mallory, hinted to Netflix’s Tudum that her character and Kimmie will face off intensely in Part 2. “Mallory’s going to dig in harder than ever to protect her power, because she’s not the type to hand over the throne,” Stewart teased. “Let’s just say the power shifts are bigger, the betrayals cut deeper, and Mallory has a few tricks no one sees coming. If you think she’s already done her worst, you’re not ready.”
Meanwhile, Kimmie’s best friend, Rain, finds herself in serious trouble after accidentally pushing a boy out of a barn window. She mistakenly believed he was assaulting Sylvie. Alex, whom Rain calls for help, informs her that the boy is Jules’s son, and while severely injured, he is alive.
The Season 2, Part 1 finale also sees Varney visiting Charles, only to discover him attempting to dismember the bodies of robbers with a chainsaw. Charles insists he had no other option to protect his eligibility for the Bellaire family fortune. The biggest cliffhanger for ‘Beauty in Black Season 2, Part 2’ is the fate of Varney and Charles, who are held at gunpoint by masked men, posing as police, who have broken into Charles’s home.
