Mike Schur returns to television with A Man on the Inside, a comedy series inspired by the Oscar-nominated Chilean documentary The Mole Agent, starring Ted Danson as Charles, a widower hired by private investigator Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada) to go undercover in a retirement home to find a thief.
Awards Buzz spoke with Danson about how his character compares with his recent TV roles in The Good Place and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Watch the video above to hear how he’s able to relate to Charles’ struggle with loss and what he thinks audiences will appreciate most about it.
