Interview: The Cast and Director of ‘The Agency’ on the All-Too-Relatable World of Their New Spy Show

In the new Showtime series The Agency, Martian (Michael Fassbender) is coming off a deep-cover assignment where he got far too close with Sami (Jodie Turner-Smith). When he’s called in, he’s forced to deal with a number of colleagues and supervisors with doubts about what he did on the job, including his handler Naomi (Katherine Waterston), Henry (Jeffrey Wright), the CIA Director of Operations, and London Station Chief Bosko (Richard Gere).

Awards Buzz had the chance to speak with Turner-Smith, Waterston, Wright, Gere, and director Joe Wright about what attracted them to the series. Watch the videos above to hear how they feel about their complex characters and the show’s relevance to the real world and this moment in time.

The first two episodes of The Agency premiere on Friday, November 29th for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® plan before its on-air debut on Sunday, December 1st.
