Interview: The Cast and Showrunners of ‘Laid’ on Making This Wild, Entertaining Dark Comedy About Sex

In Laid, based on the Australian TV series of the same name, Ruby (Stephanie Hsu) doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to dating and sex in general, and that gets considerably worse when she learns that everyone she’s slept with is dying. With the help of her best friend AJ (Zosia Mamet), she tries to figure out how to stop this phenomenon and if there’s any way to redeem herself in the process.

Awards Buzz had the chance to speak with the creative minds involved, including showrunners Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna and stars Hsu, Mamet, Michael Angarano, Andre Hyland, and Tommy Martinez. Watch the videos above to hear what they liked most about these characters and the chance to inhabit this crazy universe.

All eight episodes of season one of Laid are now streaming on Peacock.
