Interview: The Cast of ‘Pizza Movie’ Dishes on Making the New Stoner Comedy of a Generation

Move over, Cheech & Chong. Or, is it Harold & Kumar? Either way, the stoner comedy of the next generation is here, and it has arrived in the form of Pizza Move — a film about college friendships, and what happens when you accidentally take a psychedelic that causes a bad trip, which can only be cured by eating a pizza.

If it sounds absurd, it’s because it is. Awards Buzz’s Sari Cohen spoke to Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney (SNL, Over Your Dead Body) about how they came up with the idea, and how they turned it into the ludicrous laugh-out-loud moments you see on screen.

Sari Cohen also spoke to Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi Mack) about developing her unique character.

And, on the heels of its SXSW premiere, we caught up with Gaten Matarazzo, Sean Giambrone, and Lulu Wilson to talk about shooting some of the movie’s wackiest scenes.

It was so much fun! Check it out!

Pizza Movie is out on Hulu now!
