In director Tim Mielants’ Small Things Like These, Bill Furlong (Cillian Murphy) works as a coal merchant in 1980s Ireland and slowly comes to learn unsettling information about the local convent that causes him to question what he knows about the Catholic Church and its nefarious influence on his small town.
