The second season of HBO’s House of the Dragon is nominated for six Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or a Movie. Among the impressive work done by VFX supervisor Wayne Stables was the creation of two new dragons, the interior and exterior of Harrenhal, and an extended cave sequence designed to look like one single shot.
Awards Buzz spoke with Stables about how cool it is to design a dragon and how he works from real-life inspiration to create fictional creatures. Watch the video above to hear about working with other teams on certain shots and how much he understands of this expansive sci-fi universe.
The first two seasons of House of the Dragon are streaming on Max.
