“Re-Election” is undoubtedly a comedic film centered on Jimmy Bauer, a high school senior in 1995 who, after losing the class president election, abandons his dreams and becomes stuck in a life he never envisioned.

Now in his forties, Jimmy, portrayed by director-writer-producer Adam Saunders, is shocked to discover that Manish Singh (Rizwan Manji), the individual who defeated him, is seeking a second term as governor. Prompted by his father, Stan (Tony Danza), to leave the family’s memorabilia store, Jimmy sees an opportunity to redefine his future. With the help of his sister Shawna (Patty Guggenheim), now the principal of his former high school, Jimmy returns to complete his missing class credits, believing that winning the long-lost election will alter his life’s course. However, 30 years have passed, and the world has significantly changed, with shifts in social media, gender politics, social norms, and academic curricula. With the assistance of his Gen-Alpha friend Noa (Bex Taylor-Klaus) and his former classmate and current girlfriend Ama (Nathalie Kelley), Jimmy discovers that the beginning of a journey is less important than its conclusion. “Re-Election” offers a witty and heartfelt narrative about allowing one’s heart to guide one’s destiny.
