Sundance Interview: Reid Davenport and Colleen Cassingham on the Many Sides of Medical Aid in Dying in ‘Life After’

In Reid Davenport’s documentary Life After, he explores the legacy of Elizabeth Bouvia, a disabled woman who, in the 1980s, fought for the right to die, and the current intersection of medical aid in dying and its potentially dangerous application to those with disabilities.

Awards Buzz spoke with Davenport and producer Colleen Cassingham about their preconceived notions going into making the film and how those were affected over the course of production. Watch the video above to hear about who they think should most see this film and continuing developments since finishing the film.

Life After premieres at the Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. Documentary Competition on Monday, January 27th.
