About ‘Outlander: Blood of my Blood’
“Outlander: Blood of my Blood” is a romantic saga that unfolds across time. From the battlefields of World War I to the rugged Highlands of 18th century Scotland, two fated couples must defy the forces that seek to tear them apart, intersecting in surprising and unforeseen ways.
After eight seasons of epic romance on the groundbreaking series “Outlander,” the timeless tale continues — or rather begins — on the eve of an earlier Jacobite rebellion. A prequel to “Outlander,” the series will explore the lives and relationships of Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, and Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, as both pairs fight against all odds to be together.
Following the sudden death of Red Jacob, Laird of Clan MacKenzie, a heated battle for succession is underway between his two sons, Colum and Dougal. The brothers plot to maintain political power in the clan, both believing they are the best person to take over as the new Laird. Despite her father’s promise to never marry her off for political gain, Ellen MacKenzie is soon caught in the middle of her brothers’ machinations, desperate to stay one step ahead of them and in control of her own destiny. When she meets and falls in love with Brian Fraser, a member of a rival Clan, the two know their forbidden romance will be fiercely opposed by both of their families.
Meanwhile on the bloody battlefields of WWI, British soldier Henry Beauchamp pens an open letter as he struggles to understand his purpose. Intercepted by Julia Moriston in the censorship office, the two begin a relationship through letters, finally finding the hope they so desperately need for a future worth fighting for. When they finally leave the brutal war years behind them, an accident while on holiday in the Scottish Highlands leads to an unintentional separation more fraught than they could have ever imagined. The two struggle to make their way back to one another, seeking their home and their hope once again.
Separated by circumstances beyond their control, the two couples face grave dangers in their attempts to reunite and are forced to reckon with how much they will sacrifice for the ones they love.
