Emmy nominations will be announced on July 15th. We’re running down the top contenders in a number of categories and offering predictions!
Last year’s nominees: While none are eligible, the list was Jessica Gunning (Baby Reindeer), Dakota Fanning (Ripley), Lily Gladstone (Under the Bridge), Aja Naomi King (Lessons in Chemistry), Diane Lane (Feud: Capote vs. the Swans), Nava Mau (Baby Reindeer), Kali Reis (True Detective: Night Country)
The field: The Critics Choice Association nominated three contenders who are eligible here: Leila George (Disclaimer), Betty Gilpin (Three Women), and Deirdre O’Connell (The Penguin). Based on the show’s popularity, Erin Doherty (Adolescence) and Christine Tremarco (Adolescence) seem like sure things. Based in part on good reviews for their projects, Chloë Sevigny (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), Lesley Manville (Disclaimer), Emma Corrin (Black Mirror), Issa Rae (Black Mirror), Cristin Milioti (Black Mirror), Jenny Slate (Dying for Sex), Ruth Negga (Presumed Innocent), and Renate Reinsve (Presumed Innocent) may earn some votes, as could Milly Alcock (Sirens), Elizabeth Banks (The Better Sister), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Apple Cider Vinegar), Imogen Faith Reid (Good American Family), and, despite the fact that Hamilton was the only TV movie to produce a nominee in this category in the past five years, AnnaSophia Robb (Rebel Ridge).
This year’s predicted nominees: Doherty, Milioti, O’Connell, Sevigny, Slate, Tremarco
