April 17, 2024Interview: Tobias Menzies on Hunting for Lincoln’s Killer in ‘Manhunt’
April 19, 2024The hunt for Abraham Lincoln’s killer is the premise of the Apple TV+ series Manhunt, which necessitates that the sixteenth president of the United States be dead for the duration of the show. Yet Lincoln still casts a big shadow over the series, seen throughout in flashbacks. He’s brought to life by actor Hamish Linklater, a TV veteran whose past credits include Gaslit, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and Legion.
Awards Buzz spoke with Linklater about what drew him to the project, which wasn’t actually Lincoln as much as it was an interest in Booth. He also delved into Lincoln’s physicality and the technical details of the portrayal. Watch the video above to hear other anecdotes about Linklater’s considerable experience in television leading up to this series.
Hamish Linklater is eligible for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at this year’s Emmy Awards. The finale of Manhunt premieres Friday, April 19th on Apple TV+.
