Hacks, now back for its third season on Max, is a show about the unhealthy working dynamic between veteran comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder). But that’s not the only relationship on the show involving Ava that needs work, and her girlfriend Ruby (Lorenza Izzo) gets a spotlight in the first half of season three as signs of trouble emerge as Deborah creeps back into Ava’s life.
Awards Buzz spoke with Izzo about what she knew about Ruby’s arc at the start of the series and what fun it’s been to come back so much since then. Watch the video above to hear about her own experiences in the acting business and what she’d like to do in the future.
