In Presumed Innocent, prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Jake Gyllenhaal) is devasted to learn of the violent death of his colleague and mistress Carolyn Polhemus (Renate Reinsve), and barely has time to process his complicated grief before he becomes the prime suspect in her murder, prompting a sensational trial full of glaring conflicts of interest, including the newly-elected district attorney Nico Della Guardia (O-T Fagbenle), who has little affinity for Sabich.
Awards Buzz spoke with Fagbenle on working on Nico’s style of speech and his read of the character. Watch the video above to hear about Fagbenle’s typically busy TV calendar, which includes the recently-debuted No Good Deed and the upcoming final season of The Handmaid’s Tale.
Season one of Presumed Innocent is streaming on Apple TV+.
