Interview: Paul W. Downs on Playing Jimmy and Operating Behind the Scenes of ‘Hacks’

Hacks, now back for its third season on Max, is a show about the unhealthy working dynamic between veteran comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder). Paul W. Downs wears many hats, serving as co-creator with Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky and playing the role of Jimmy, the hard-working agent for both Deborah and Ava.

Awards Buzz spoke with Downs about Jimmy’s character arc in season three and his continued antics opposite Meg Stalter’s Kayla. Watch the video above to hear about his take on the show’s performance so far and what he currently sees for his future.
