Interview: Román Zaragoza on Sasappis’ Love Advice and Affinity for Food on ‘Ghosts’

Three seasons in, Ghosts remains one of the best ensemble comedies on television, following the (after)lives of a group of ghosts from all throughout history who have all died at the same house now owned by Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar). One ghost, Sasappis (Román Zaragoza), a Lenape storyteller, has recently revealed a special power that enables him to tell other people’s stories: infiltrating and influencing the dreams of the living.  

Awards Buzz spoke with Zaragoza about the joy of getting to work with Ambudkar in scenes where they can both see each other. Watch the video above to hear his take on Sasappis’ romances and his meddling in other relationships on the show.

Román Zaragoza is eligible for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at this year’s Emmy Awards. The first three seasons of Ghosts are available to stream on Paramount+ and the series returns for season four this fall on CBS.
