May 1, 2024Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss returns to television while The Handmaid’s Tale is on hiatus before its final season, starring in a different kind of thriller that puts her on the other side of the world dealing with a much more intimate confrontation with extremism. Opposite Moss is a true breakout, Lebanese actress Yumna Marwan, previously seen in Little Birds alongside Juno Temple and in films like Costa Brava, Lebanon and Inshallah a Boy, playing someone with just as many secrets as Moss’ duplicitous political operator.
Awards Buzz spoke with Marwan about the chance to work with Moss and to build a truly intriguing relationship between their two characters. Watch the video above to learn about Marwan’s approach to this series and how her career has taken her from the Arab world to American television.
Yumna Marwan is eligible for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at this year’s Emmy Awards. The first two episodes of The Veil premiere Tuesday, April 30th on FX on Hulu, with new installments debuting weekly on Tuesdays through the finale on May 28th.
