“Sometimes as an actor, I like to just observe. Steve is a creation of all of us together. Even the props department. Everybody has a ownership over Steve. Getting story beats that I didn’t expect are so great! Like this week, we’re gonna air an episode in which Steve finds confidence through the silliest thing.“
Latasha M. Ford with Awards Buzz had an opportunity for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Season 2 of “Happy’s Place,” featuring an interview with Pablo Castelblanco, who portrays Steve.
In this segment for Awards Buzz, we explore Steve’s character development this season, highlighting his growth from a meticulous accountant to a bolder individual pursuing directing interests. The interview delves into the comedic contradictions of his personality, his evolving relationships with the cast — including his unique bond with Tokala — and how the ensemble’s chemistry has helped his character step out of his comfort zone. Furthermore, Pablo shares insights on working with Reba McEntire, specifically how her focus on graciousness and trusting the creative process has influenced the cast’s approach to sitcom acting. We also discuss Pablo Castelblanco’s desirable storylines for Season 3 and a heartwarming update on Pablo’s newly adopted dog’s journey.
