In Lady in the Lake, Maddie Schwartz (Natalie Portman) becomes obsessed with the murder of Cleo Johnson (Moses Ingram), a Baltimore woman found dead in the lake. As Maddie digs deeper and allows her journalistic ambition to continue fueling her drive, Cleo’s life is revealed in flashbacks that paint a much fuller and more complicated picture of events.
