Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have been working together for more than two decades, earning acclaim for their first feature Half Nelson, which earned Ryan Gosling an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Since then, they’ve made It’s Kind of a Funny Story and Captain Marvel, and been back at the Sundance Film Festival twice, first with Mississippi Grind and their latest, craziest film yet, Freaky Tales.
Awards Buzz spoke with Boden and Fleck about how this project compares to their previous films and what inspired them to make it. Watch the video above to hear about working with multiple segments and casting some of the key roles in the film.
