On Abbott Elementary, the district isn’t typically known for giving good news or being a productive player in education in Philadelphia, but Manny (Josh Segarra) is considerably nicer and more compassionate than his colleagues. Segarra is a busy man, also starring in the new Netflix series Sirens and two films that screened earlier this year at SXSW, The Threesome and Friendship.
Awards Buzz spoke with Segarra about this season’s storyline with Ava and how he feels about Manny’s role in all of it. Watch the video above to hear about what appeals to him about his less entirely wholesome characters on Sirens and in his recent films.
