In The Last Frontier, a plane full of prisoners crash-lands in Alaska, and U.S. Marshal Frank Remick (Jason Clarke) has the challenging task of locating all of them before they threaten the members of his community. Aided by Agent Sidney Scofield (Haley Bennett), his most difficult target proves to be Levi Havlock (Dominic Cooper), who seems to have a leg up on his fellow convicts and an unknown endgame in mind.
Awards Buzz spoke with Cooper and Bennett, who were hesitant to reveal too much about their characters, preferring instead to offer vague previews about what the show will deliver:
Bennett teased a blockbuster experience:
“I think that audiences should just buckle up and go along for the ride. I think that it’s incredibly entertaining. You have a compelling story, incredible actors, groundbreaking action, and this is all set to the most incredible Alaskan scenery.”
Cooper used shorter sentences to highlight the same idea:
“I’d say: big plane crash. Middle of Alaska. Full of the most dangerous people you could ever imagine, some of which are hooded and chained up. Big manhunt. Written by a person who knows more about this genre than anyone else in the world and directed by someone who makes the best action sequences you can imagine. You have actors who are doing a great job, and you’ve got a combination of an entertaining, thrilling show.”
Asked about whether it’s better to hold off until this show has dropped all its episodes, Bennett revealed her own watching habits:
“I’m a binger, and if I don’t have more episodes, I get very frustrated. But then again, I have been watching The Studio, and I get excited about seeing it weekly and then my heart stops and I have to wait. It’s such a tease. And this show in particular, every episode you get so much more information. I feel like the end of each episode just makes your heart race and you want more. It’s like a great affair.”
New episodes of The Last Frontier premiere weekly on Fridays on Apple TV through the season finale on December 5th.
