Emmy nominations will be announced on July 15th. We’re running down the top contenders in a number of categories and offering predictions!
Last year’s nominees: Two women won’t be back yet since their shows are returning in the future: Maya Rudolph (Loot) and Kristen Wiig (Palm Royale). Selena Gomez (Only Murders in the Building) is looking for her second nomination, while 2023 winner Quinta Bruson (Abbott Elementary) is hunting for her fourth, Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), who won the supporting prize in 2022, is looking for her third, and Jean Smart (Hacks) stands a chance at winning her fourth prize for this role.
Returning contenders: 2023 nominee Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face) is back in the running for the first half of the second season of her show.
The rest: Look for Kristen Bell (Nobody Wants This), cited by the Golden Globes, SAG, and the Critics Choice Association. The Globes also went for Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along), while CCA highlighted two actresses in the final seasons of their shows, Natasia Demetriou (What We Do in the Shadows) and Bridget Everett (Somebody Somewhere). Past winners with new shows to watch out for include Uzo Aduba (The Residence), Tina Fey (The Four Seasons), and Lisa Kudrow (No Good Deed).
