The Dick Wolf Universe recently got a whole lot bigger with its first-ever streaming series, Prime Video’s On Call. Front and center of the drama series is veteran actor, director, producer, and author Eriq La Salle. The Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor has been behind the camera for multiple Dick Wolf shows, including Chicago P.D. and Law & Order. On Call has the NAACP Image Award winner in the director’s seat and starring in front of the camera as Sergeant Lasman.
La Salle has played some of the most iconic roles in both film and television. From the character of Darryl Jenks in 1988’s Coming to America to his award-winning portrayal of Dr. Peter Benton in the history-making medical drama ER, La Salle maintains a brilliant career with a prolific body of work to show for it.
Awards Buzz recently sat down to speak with Eriq La Salle about his work on the police procedural On Call, his ties to co-star Troian Bellisario, and his love for writing.
