In Jeffrey Reiner’s Lake George, Don (Shea Whigham) gets out of prison only to learn that he still owes a debt to mobster Armen (Glenn Fleshler). When he tries – and fails – to pay it off by killing Armen’s girlfriend Phyllis (Carrie Coon) for him, he finds an unexpected new ally in a quest to stay alive and find some sort of meager happiness, whatever that might resemble.
Awards Buzz spoke with Reiner about his affinity for the real place referenced in the film’s title and how it serves as a focal point for his protagonist. Watch the video above to hear about finding unexpected comedy and his admiration for the members of his core cast.
